Erie County Sheriffs Deputy William M. Dillemuth

This past Saturday, the Men and Women of the Erie County Sheriff's Office paused in their duty to recognize a fallen brother - Deputy William Dillemuth. Deputy William M. Dillemuth, a 23-year veteran of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, gave his life in the line of duty shortly after 3:00 p.m., October 20, 1989. Deputy Dillemuth was shot once in the chest while attempting to serve a warrant at a suspect’s home in the Town of Clarence. Deputy Dillemuth was just 44 years old at the time of his death and was survived by his son.
