Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard wishes to pass along his best wishes to Xander and Jake for a full and speedy recovery.
The Sheriff’s Office continues to respect the family as they grieve the loss of Amanda and William, while at the same time caring for the boys. Although our investigation remains open and detectives are prepared to speak to the family, the Sheriff’s Office will only do so when the family and the boys are prepared to speak. Until then, the Sheriff’s Office will continue to provide support to the family and express its best wishes.

We wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. The generosity and support we've received from the community has truly helped all of us during this time, but especially Jake and Xander.
The boys are both home from the hospital and recovering, surrounded by family and friends. They continue to amaze us with their perseverance, and watching them get stronger by the day is nothing short of a miracle.
Our family will never forget the kindness and love we've received, and we will do everything we can to honor it and pass it on in every way possible. Thank you.
