The Erie County Sheriff’s Office responded to 350 calls the week of this report.
10/25: Disturbance Other
Cardinal Ln.
Deputies responded to a report of a person illegally operating a dirt bike on the roadway and also causing property damage. Deputies issued the operator several tickets and allowed the operator to walk the dirt bike home.
10/26: Welfare Check
East River Rd.
Deputies were dispatched to locate a suspected intoxicated individual that left a gathering on foot. Deputies located the subject and determined that the person was not incapacitated by alcohol. The subject just wanted to go home and left the gathering. Patrol assisted and gave the subject courtesy transport home.
10/27: UUMV – Confused Adult
Ferry Rd.
Deputies were called by a complainant stating that their car was stolen. The complainant exhibited possible signs of confusion during the interview. Deputies located the vehicle a short time later. Investigation is ongoing to determine if the vehicle was stolen or possibly just misplaced.
10/29: Suspicious Person
Grand Island Blvd.
Deputies were notified by complainant about an aggressive panhandler in the area. Patrol is aware of the subject who was quickly located and advised to leave the area.
10/30: Suspicious Incident
Grand Island Blvd.
Deputies later located the subject from an earlier panhandling incident a short time later at another business. The subject was again sent on his way. No further incidents on this date.
