Woman arrested for DWI twice the legal limit and Leandra’s Law



On February 23, 2019 at 6:30 PM, Troopers arrested Nancy Jimerson, 34 of Irving, NY for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated Leandra’s Law (E Felony), Use of a vehicle without Interlock Device (A Misd), Endangering the Welfare of a Child and No Child Safety Restraint (VTL). On February 23, 2019, Troopers responded to a 911 call of a disabled vehicle on the I-190 north of exit 23 in the city of Niagara Falls.  Troopers located the 2014 Buick on the shoulder of the roadway of the I-190.  The operator, Jimerson stated she ran out of gas.  Further investigation revealed that Jimerson was under the influence of alcohol and operated the vehicle with an eighteen-month old child in the back seat of the vehicle without a proper child safety seat.  The vehicle Jimerson was operating belong to a friend without an interlock device, which Jimerson is court ordered to have due to a previous DWI arrest.  Jimerson failed SFST’s given.

Jimerson was arrested and transported to SP Niagara for processing. Jimerson summitted to a breath test with a .16% BAC. 

Jimerson was transported to the Niagara Falls City Jail and held on $750 bail.  The child was turned over to family member and in good health.
