West Seneca Police Investigating Stabbing Incident.
This afternoon shortly after 3:30pm, patrol responded to a Clinton St residence for a report of an active disturbance involving a person that had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, patrol officers from C Platoon located a male subject, Michael Slawatycki- 35 years old of West Seneca, in the backyard of the residence.
Slawatycki was wearing only underwear, covered in blood, and screaming incoherently. He was highly aggressive towards responding officers and had to be tased twice before going to the ground where he continued to aggressively fight with patrol. After a brief struggle, Slawatycki was taken into custody.
Investigation into the incident revealed that Slawatycki may have been having a reaction to illicit drugs inside his apartment when he grabbed a large kitchen knife and stabbed his girlfriend several times.
The lower tenants who heard the commotion attempted to intervene but were also attacked. The female victim was taken to ECMC for multiple stab wounds, is in stable condition, and is expected to be released from the hospital soon. Slawatycki was also transported to ECMC for lacerations to his hand. He was treated and returned to WSPD to be processed and is currently awaiting arraignment by a judge.
Under the advisement of the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, Slawatycki was charged with Assault in the 2nd degree, a D Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, a D Felony, Resisting Arrest, and two counts of Harassment.
