Sunday, July 4th
- A male wearing dark clothing was reported to be pulling on car door handles on Knox Ave early in the morning. Officers located the man who did not have any stolen property on him.
- Patrol responded to In The Woods Ln for a report of a male screaming for help near a pond. Officers located the man whose foot was caught in a beaver trap. Officers were able to free the man’s foot. He was evaluated by paramedics and signed off on any further treatment. The victim was contracted by the community association to trap the beavers.
- An Angle Rd resident locked themselves out of their home. Patrol was able to gain entry using the garage door opener in their vehicle.
- A grill was reported to be on fire on the second floor balcony of a residence on Duerstein causing damage to the balcony and siding of the home. Officers and Firefighters had to force entry into the upper apartment after no one answered the door. The resident emerged from the attic and stated he was burning garbage because his garbage bins were full and didn’t realize the fire was out of control.
- Officers responded to numerous reports of illegal fireworks usage throughout the night as well as numerous loud parties.
- Patrol received a report of a bench on fire in Knox Park near the baseball diamond. Officers found a pile of discarded fireworks boxes and casings had caught fire and were smoldering. The fire department extinguished the blaze.
Monday, July 5th
- Officers responded to numerous reports of illegal fireworks usage throughout the night.
- Home Depot reported that a male left the store with two vacuums without paying and fled in a gray Nissan Titan. Detectives are investigating.
- A suspicious person in a vehicle was reported to be in the driveway of the complainant’s family member. The individual was a painter who arrived a day early to perform work.
- A complainant reported an unknown person picked up their prescription medication from a Harlem Rd pharmacy.
- Patrol responded to several noise complaints throughout town.
- A Flohr Ave resident reported a neighbor stole their ladder. The neighbor thought the ladder was abandoned. It was returned to it’s owner.
- McDonalds reported a female customer was being belligerent with staff and other customers. She was given a ride home and advised she is no longer welcome on the property.
Tuesday, July 6th
- A witness flagged down a patrol officer for a garbage can that was on fire at a Seneca St apartment building. The fire was extinguished by the Fire Dept
- A fight was reported at a Seneca St bar involving five people. Patrol located an intoxicated female who was given a ride home by another patron.
- An Oakridge Dr resident reported someone stole the license plates off her vehicle.
- Home Depot reported a female shoplifted power tools and fled the store in an older model black Subaru. Detectives are investigating.
- A tractor trailer took a wrong turn attempting to get on the Rt 219 and got stuck under wires on Covington Dr. Patrol assisted in getting the vehicle on it’s way.
- A female complainant on Harlem Rd reported an unknown male got out of his vehicle and spit in her face.
- Rite Aid on Harlem Rd reported a male subject was throwing things around the store and attempting to hit the store manager. The man was escorted off the property and advised he was no longer welcome in the store.
- A vehicle was reported to have been stolen from the Southgate Plaza while the owner was inside of a store. The victim’s keys, wallet, credit cards, and other personal items were inside. The vehicle was later recovered in the city of Buffalo. The credit card was used at a gas station before it could be cancelled. Detectives are investigating.
- A Florence Ave resident reported someone broke the passenger side window of her vehicle.
Wednesday, July 7th
-A Greenfield Ave resident reported that a male placed his dog on their vehicle to prevent his dog from being attacked by another neighbor’s dog that got loose, causing scratches to the vehicles hood. Patrol officers were able to buff out the scratches.
-An Indian Church Rd resident called to report his vehicle was stolen. He called back a short time later to report he forgot he loaned it to his contractor to use.
-A vehicle was reported to have been struck by a black truck on Clinton St near Vinnys Bar. The striking vehicle fled the scene. Our Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
Thursday, July 8th
-A Brittany Ct resident reported they were scammed out of $1000 in an Amazon gift card email scam.
-A male reported an unknown vehicle struck him on his scooter on Union Rd early the previous morning. AIU is investigating.
Friday, July 9th
-A complainant reported that another woman opened her car door into hers in the Tops parking lot on Harlem Rd, causing a dent to her door. The other woman swore at the victim and then drove away. License plate information will be used to identify the suspect.
-A man was reported to be surfing on the roof of a pickup truck headed towards the Queen of Heaven Carnival.
-A Harlem Rd resident reported excessive noise from whistles coming from a nearby bar. Patrol did not observe any unreasonable noise.
-A shirtless male in a vehicle was reported to be following and verbally threatening the complainant who was walking home from the carnival. Patrol stopped the vehicle and received conflicting stories. They were advised and sent on their way.
Saturday, July 10th
-Officers working at the Queen of Heaven Carnival observed two male subjects in their 40’s damage a mailbox of a Seneca St residence. The homeowner declined to press charges at that time with the agreement the subjects would return the next day to replace the mailbox. The mailbox appeared to have been replaced the following day.
-An intoxicated male opened the car door of a vehicle on Seneca St and vomited inside. The man was picked up by his mother and taken home.
-An intoxicated male was reported to be found in front of the Ebenezer Ale House. He was assisted home by patrol to a friend’s house nearby.
-Screaming was reported to be coming from an address on Seneca St. Upon officer’s arrival the residence was reported to be quiet and no one answered the door.
-A roadside sales money box was reportedly stolen from a Borden Rd residence sometime overnight.
-An intoxicated female was reported to be walking dangerously close to traffic on Seneca St.
-A Collins Ave resident reported someone unsuccessfully attempted to steal a sewer grate.
-A fight involving a group of six people was reported on Mill Rd at Seneca St. Officers on foot patrol report there was no fight in progress and people in the area did not observe any altercations.
-An East and West Rd resident reported an intoxicated male came to his door and then left.
-An intoxicated male was reported to be leaning up against a utility pole on Mill Rd near Seneca St. The subject’s son came to pick him up.
-Patrol responded to perform a welfare check for a male walking down Union Rd near Willowdale who appeared to be intoxicated. Patrol reported numerous people walking in the area matched that description but no one appeared to be in any kind of distress.
