The West Seneca Police Department announces the arrest of Paul R. Kowalski Jr. of Greene Street in Buffalo, NY.

Kowalski is charged with Robbery 1st degree (Class B Felony) and Grand Larceny 4th degree (Class E Felony). Kowalski is alleged to have robbed the Kmart located at 349 Orchard Park Rd in West Seneca on 11/18/2017.

According to witnesses, Kowalski had one candy bar that he put on the conveyor belt and when the cashier opened their register drawer, Kowalski demanded the cash while brandishing a knife. The cashier gave Kowalski the money and he ran out of the store. West Seneca Police Detectives worked the case and developed leads in conjunction with Buffalo Police who were investigating a Robbery of the M&T Bank on Dorrance Ave in South Buffalo. An arrest warrant was issued for Kowalski by West Seneca Town Justice Jeffrey Harrington. Kowalski was arraigned on the charges and waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

Kowalski was remanded without bail to the Erie County Holding Center. The case will now be presented before the Grand Jury.

Kowalski also faces charges in Buffalo City Court for the Robbery of the M&T Bank in South Buffalo on 11/29/2017.
