On August 26, 2018 at approximately 7:30pm, Troopers out of SP Machias arrested Christopher J. Stoutenburg 36 of West Seneca NY for Leandra's Law DWI, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and unsafe passing. On August 26, 2018 Troopers stopped Stoutenburg on State Route 219 in the Town of Ashford for passing another vehicle and causing that vehicle to veer off the shoulder of the roadway , avoiding a collision. Stoutenburg was placed under arrest after failing SFST's and was transported to SP Machias for processing. Stoutenburg's 1 year old child was in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. Stoutenburg recorded a .11%BAC. Stoutenburg was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Ashford in September 2018.
