Village of Kenmore Police Seeking to Reunite Stolen Goods with Rightful Owners

Writer's picture: Erie Co. Blotter.Erie Co. Blotter.

Yesterday (07/19) Kenmore patrols had a report of an individual stealing packages from the porch of a resident's home. Unfortunate for this thief, the resident was home at the time and witnessed the theft in progress; he was caught with the item on him, as well as other merchandise that we are unable to to trace back to any specific individuals as the packaging was thrown away.

What we DO know: 1: These are mail order items. 2: This merchandise would have been marked delivered yesterday by the company it was ordered from 3: If you have had anything you were expecting to receive marked delivered to your home and believe that one of the 2 items we have may be yours, DO NOT CALL THE STATION AND ASK WHAT THE ITEMS ARE...WE WILL NOT STATE FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. Bring with you to the police station a printout of your recent order showing the item you believe we may have, along with a printout stating from the company, UPS, USPS, etc., that it was delivered.

Again, no information will be given by phone. We advise all residents in the Village and Town of Tonawanda to have any packages delivered to a safe area...gated, post office, require signature, neighbor, any way that will keep your property safe. We would like to turn these items over to its rightful owner(s).

The theft the individual was arrested for was on Washington Avenue. We encourage these residents to look into their deliveries. Thank you.
