Updated: Oct 25, 2021

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports three individuals were arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop on October 20 in the Town of Brant.

Deputies initiated a traffic stop for vehicle and traffic law violations on Brant Reservation Road near Milestrip Road around 11:04 p.m. An investigation discovered the operator, Shaine Henhawk of Collins, had an active warrant out of Salamanca. Shaine was taken into custody, and while speaking with one of the two passengers, Deputies learned that 51-year-old Gregory McSkimming of Evans possessed a quantity of Oxycodone pills that were not his.

Deputies also observed multiple open containers within the vehicle. When checking the containers for alcohol, Deputies observed several baggies containing white powder. They also discovered pipes with residue and cocaine wrapped in plastic.

Deputies arrested and charged:

· Shaine Henhawk of Collins – a felony count of criminal possession of cocaine, a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance, and a vehicle and traffic law violation; and

· Gregory McSkimming – a felony count of criminal possession of cocaine and two misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance; and

· Joseph Laforme, 21 of Gowanda – a felony count of criminal possession of cocaine and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

All defendants were transported to the Erie County Holding Center. McSkimming and Laforme were released following their arraignment while Henhawk remains in custody.
