Two Arrested For Animal Cruelty, Burglary Charges.
Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies arrested two individuals associated with a December 26 incident in the Town of Elma.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint on December 26 at approximately 11:50 about two individuals walking down a road in Elma carrying dead chickens. When Deputies arrived in the area, the subjects were gone.
At approximately 9:50 a.m. on December 27, Deputies responded to a Hemstreet address in Elma about complaints from the property owner. The owner conveyed to the Deputies that he discovered a door to the barn was left open, and a severed chicken head on the barn floor. He explained that two chickens, a white chicken and a dark red chicken, were missing along with a duck; the duck was located later by the owners on an adjacent property deceased.
The Sheriff’s Office interviewed several residents in the area and developed descriptions of the suspects. One resident described seeing two males walking down Hemstreet yelling, swearing, and high-fiving each other.
The investigation developed information about the subjects which led Deputies to the Hemstreet residence of 22-year-old Austin and 20-year-old Aden Jimerson.
On December 28, Deputies arrested and charged each subject with a felony count of burglary as well as misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, torturing an animal, and petit larceny.
The defendants are held at the Erie County Holding Center, pending their arraignments.
