On January 1, 2021, troopers out of SP Boston arrested Raheem K. Young, age 40, of the City of Buffalo, for Driving While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
A trooper was in the area of Courtland Ave in the City of Buffalo when he was flagged down by an individual who stated his vehicle was struck by another car which fled the scene. The trooper was able to catch up to the suspect car and observed it failing to maintain its lane. The trooper initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and interviewed the operator, Raheem Young. While interviewing Young the trooper detected the odor of alcohol as well as observing marijuana in plain view. Young was asked out of his vehicle and given standard field sobriety tests which he failed.
Young was subsequently arrested for DWI.
A search of Young’s vehicle revealed a small quantity of marijuana as well as a loaded handgun Young was not licensed to have.
Young was transported to Buffalo lock up where he refused to provide a breath sample.
Young was printed, photographed and processed.
He was held pending arraignment on 01/02/21.
