Traffic stop leads to DWI and felony cocaine possession arrest.

On April 24, 2021, at approximately 1:10 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on Broadway St in the city of Buffalo for a vehicle and traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle, Louis C. Goforth, 37, of Kenmore, NY, was found to be intoxicated and in possession of approximately 3 grams of crack cocaine.

Goforth was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Buffalo, where he refused to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content in his system. He was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree; a Class D Felony, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nddegree; a Class A Misdemeanor, and Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor.

Goforth was arraigned before the City of Buffalo Court and released on his own recognizance and was turned over to a sober third party. He is to reappear on May 14, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
