Traffic stop leads to arrests of Erie County residents.

On June 9th, 2019, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Jaqwan Martin, 28, of Cheektowaga, for False Personation and Shane Colbert, 22, of Buffalo, for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

The Troopers pulled over a vehicle on Route 60 for a traffic violation and while speaking to the occupants, the Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle and its occupants revealed that the driver, Colbert, was in possession of three grams of marijuana and a marijuana cigarette.  Colbert was issued an appearance ticket and a traffic ticket and released.  The passenger, Martin, initially provided the Troopers with the name of a different individual.  When Martin was advised that there was an active warrant for him, he admitted his true identity and was placed under arrest.  Martin's identity was confirmed through records at SP Jamestown and he was processed.  Martin was then transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.
