The Erie County Sheriff’s Office responded to 388 calls in the week of this report.
10/27/24: Vehicle Accident
Harris Hill Road
Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident. Deputies reported no injuries, and one vehicle was towed from the scene. Deputies completed an accident report and an information exchange. Deputies advised both drivers to contact their insurance company.
10/28/24: Suspicious Incident
Xavier Road
Deputies were called to a house to investigate a vehicle that was keyed overnight. Deputies completed a police report and noted damage to the tailgate of the vehicle.
10/28/24: Larceny
Main Street
Deputies were called to a Main Street business after a gold necklace was taken. Deputies gathered video footage and information on the suspect. A Police report was filed, and this incident remains under investigation.
10/28/24: Suspicious Incident
Keller Road
Deputies were asked to investigate what sounded like a person screaming in the woods. Deputies searched the area and reported nothing suspicious was found. The complaint stated it could have been an animal.
10/29/24: DWI
Transit Road
Deputies made an arrest for driving while intoxicated. The driver was charged with Aggravated unlicensed operation, as his driver’s license was already suspended, turning without using a proper signal, unsafe lane change, and driving while intoxicated. The driver was released on an appearance ticket.
10/29/24: Accident Injury
County Road at Stahley Road
Deputies were called for a two-vehicle accident with injuries. The driver of one vehicle was transported to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital for medical evaluation. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and Deputies completed an accident report.
10/29/24: Larceny
Sheridan Drive
Deputies were called to a Sheridan Drive business for a report that a former employee hasn’t returned property of the business. Deputies were able to contact the subject, who stated he was going to return the items the next day. Deputies advised the owner to call back if the subject does not show with the items.
10/30/24: Road Obstruction
Ville Road
Deputies were asked to check out dirt and other debris that was in the roadway. Deputies found a large pile of debris in the roadway and contacted the Highway Dept. to assist with its removal.
10/30/24: Neighborhood Patrol
Town of Clarence
Deputies are still increasing neighborhood Patrols to combat the increase in larcenies from vehicles. The Sheriff’s Office continues to remind people to lock their vehicles and remove valuables from them when left unattended.
10/31/24: Shoplifting
Transit Road
Deputies were called to a Transit Road business on a report that a female ran out of the store with several coats. Deputies were able to gather some information, including a valid license plate of the vehicle the female left in. Deputies completed a Police report, and this incident is still under investigation.
10/31/24: Unwelcome Guest
Main Street
Deputies were called to a local church where people were camping on the property and refused to leave. Deputies spoke to the individuals and advised them that they needed to leave the property. Deputies offered them a courtesy ride to a shelter, but they refused stating they would walk. All parties were satisfied.
11/01/24: Customer Trouble
Transit Road
Deputies were called to a Transit Road business for a report of a customer that refuses to leave and was causing issues. Deputies reported that the customer had left and there was no need for further action. The customer was contacted and advised not to return to the store. Nothing criminal reported.
11/01/24: Firework Use
Strickler Road
Deputies were called to an address for firework use. Deputies noted that the homeowner was celebrating a religious holiday, and he finished the fireworks. All parties were advised.
