Town of Brant Fatal Accident Update.
Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that 67-year-old Kathleen Lewis of Volant, Pennsylvania was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash that occurred on Route 20 in the Town of Brant between Route 249 and Hammond Road on Sunday, June 24.
Ms. Lewis’ granddaughters were taken to John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The male driver and female passenger of the second vehicle were transported to Erie County Medical Center and are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries as well. The occupants of the second vehicle were both Kentucky residents.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Crash Investigation Unit.

Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies and the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) are investigating a fatal crash on Southwestern Boulevard in the Town of Brant.
At approximately 1:30 P.M. Sheriff’s Dispatchers received calls about a two-vehicle crash. The operator of one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased, and the two minor passengers were taken to John R. Oishei Children's Hospital and were last reported alert and conscious.
The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were taken to Erie County Medical Center, and the extent of injuries is not available at the time of the time release.
The crash is under investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office sent its therapy dog, Loki, to the hospital to comfort the children.
