Threat at County Bldg.

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports a unified command consisting of ECSO, Buffalo Police Department, NYS Office of Court Administration -and its Officers, is investigating a threat directed at the buildings.

As per NYS Office of Court Administration policy, the buildings have been evacuated, and Explosives Detection K9 teams from ECSO, BPD, NFTA Transit Police, Department of Homeland Security, and Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms will be conducting sweeps of the surrounding area and the buildings.

Buffalo Police have closed multiple streets to vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area.

Erie County’s Department of Public Works is assisting with the incident and the closure of the buildings.

There is no timetable for reopening roads and buildings.
