On Friday, July 26, 2019, State Police responded to a serious personal injury motorcycle accident on I-190 in the city of Buffalo, Erie County. The crash occurred at approximately 11:57 p.m. near mile marker 6.58 southbound. A preliminary investigation revealed Oasis T. Williams, 34, of Buffalo, NY, was operating a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed and lost control, striking a concrete barrier and guide rail. William's suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was transported to Erie County Medical Center where an autopsy will be performed. The motorcycle continued south and struck a 2018 Ford operated by David W. Mathews, 68, of N. Tonawanda, NY and a 1999 Toyota operated by Rachael E. Herman-Gross, 35, of Buffalo, NY, neither of which were injured. Members from Troop A BCI and the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) assisted at the scene.
