Pair From Buffalo Arrested For Felony Drug possession After Driving A Stolen Car On The Thruway.
On June 23, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m., State Police stopped a car on I-90 in the town of Dunkirk, for a vehicle and traffic violation. While interviewing the driver, it was discovered that the vehicle, a 2015 Kia sedan, was reported stolen out of the Town of Cheektowaga Police Department. The Troopers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and its occupants.
The driver, Malik A. Johnson, 22, and the passenger, Markiya A. Foster, 19, both of Buffalo, NY, were found to be in possession of approximately 7.34 grams of crack, over 1 gram of heroin, a zanax bar, and a digital scale.
The pair were taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Dunkirk where they were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree; a Class B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4thdegree; a Class C Felony, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree; a Class D Felony, and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia; a Class A Misdemeanor.
Johnson and Foster were held at the Chautauqua County Jail pending an arraignment.
