On November 16, 2018 at 8:49 P.M., SP Amity Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) arrested Matthew J. Gilbert, 31 of Hunt, NY for Murder 2nd degree (A-1 Felony). On November 16, 2018 at 2:49 P.M., Troopers and BCI responded to a report of a male with a gunshot wound at Monegan Road in the town of Burns. Further investigation revealed that Gilbert shot the 23-year-old victim with a shotgun over a property dispute. Gilbert was arrested and processed at SP Amity. Gilbert was arraigned at the town of Burns Court and remanded to Allegany County Jail with out bail. Forensic Investigation Unit also assisted in this investigation.
