A state trooper was seriously hurt after being struck by a pickup truck during a traffic stop in Steuben County. Troopers tell us it happened on I-86 Wednesday afternoon in the Town of Campbell around 5 p.m. State Police say the trooper was inside the car when the crash happened. The trooper was trapped and had to be pulled out. He was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

The trooper's identity has not yet been released. So far there is no word on the driver of the pickup truck that hit the trooper, or if that person will face any charges.
