Niagara Falls - Suspect Arraigned on Jan 1st Homicide on LaSalle Ave.

On the morning of January 3rd, 2023, a suspect in the January 1st homicide on LaSalle Ave was arraigned in Niagara Falls City Court.


Dominique L. Castile, a 34-year-old male from Centerville, PA, was arraigned on one count of Murder 2nd degree and one count of Assault 1st degree. Castile was remanded into the custody of the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, until his next scheduled court appearance on January 6th in Niagara Falls City Court.


Castile is charged with murder in connection with the homicide that occurred on the morning of January 1st in the 2200 block of Lasalle Ave in Niagara Falls.

Castile is accused of stabbing the 33-year-old male victim inside the house, resulting in his death. Castile is also facing a charge of Assault 1st degree from a separate stabbing incident that occurred at the same address on the night of December 27th, 2022. In that incident a different 33-year-old male was stabbed and remains in stable condition at ECMC.


Castile was arrested Sunday morning in Amherst NY, shortly after the homicide. Amherst Police encountered Castile during a car stop which led to separate criminal charges there. As Detectives from Niagara Falls Police developed Castile as a suspect in the homicide, a bulletin was issued to local police agencies regarding Castile. Shortly after the issuance of the bulletin, Niagara Falls Police were informed that Castile was in custody.


Detectives from Niagara Falls Police took Castile into custody late Sunday night upon his release from Amherst.
