Marine Unit Stops Vessel and Operator Ends Up Arrested For BWI.
Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies with the Marine Unit arrested 49-year-old Buffalo resident Javier Colon Torres for BWI on August 19.
The Marine Unit stopped his vessel on the Niagara River around 6:19 P.M. after observing navigation law violations. During the stop, the Deputies observed signs of impairment.
Following their investigation, Colon Torres is charged with BWI and two separate navigation law violations. The defendant was issued tickets for a future court hearing in Grand Island Town Court and released.
