Marilla: Brush Fire Update w/ Photo's

Marilla: A person burning items in a burn barrel unattended led to a 30 acre brush fire that had up too 100 Firefighters throughout erie county on scene for 3 hours. Even the Buffalo Airports Crash Fire Rescue was brought on scene to flood the fire with as much water as possible.

George Gertz from Marilla Fire Co stated:“First of all, you shouldn’t be burning in dry weather and when it’s a windy day, you shouldn’t be burning at all. According to state law, if you’re going to burn you have to have fire suppression and you have to maintain a fire until it’s out. The gentleman started the fire and went into the house, this fire could have been a lot worse than it was"

Marilla Fire Co sent us in these photos from yesterdays incident.
