Lost Campers Found by K-9 Loki and Deputy

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputy Girdler and his partner, Loki, responded to reports of a family lost in the woods surrounding the Branches of Niagara Campground on August 12, just before 10:00 P.M. The individuals were in contact with the Sheriff’s dispatchers, but they were running out of power on their cell phone and did not have a flashlight. Loki and Deputy Girdler entered the woods, and Loki led his handler to the party after about a ten-minute track. The individuals were returned to the campground and did not need any medical attention.
