Lancaster Police Dept Patrol Logs from March 2nd Through March 7th.

Patrol responded to a call of an unwelcome guest on St John St, the Subject, a 24 year old female from Depew, stated to Patrol that she had permission from a friend to stay in the basement of the residence. However, the homeowner who was also the Complainant, was requesting the female leave. Patrol learned that the female had two outstanding warrant out of Lancaster, 2 out of Depew and 2 out of Cheektowaga. She was taken into custody on the Lancaster warrants and later turned over to Depew Police.


19 cases of identity theft were reported. A majority of those cases were involving fraudulent unemployment claims. The cases have been referred to Detectives.


Lancaster dispatch handled 59 requests for emergency medical services.


An Officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Transit Rd. The vehicle also matched the description of a vehicle that was recently involved in several larcenies in Cheektowaga. When the Officer turned around to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle quickly pulled into a gas station parking lot and went behind the building. One of the passengers exited the vehicle and fled on foot. That suspect was later located and taken into custody with the assistance of Cheektowaga and Depew Police. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle still occupied by the driver and two other passengers. The driver was taken into custody for vehicle and traffic law charges. The Officer observed in plain view inside the vehicle, several pieces of merchandise with price tags. The passengers were detained for Cheektowaga PDs investigation into the larcenies and subsequently charged in Lancaster for criminal possession of stolen property and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on the highway. The driver was charged with unlicensed operation, failure to deliver license and registration, operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration, illegal signal, unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree and criminal passion of stolen property in the fourth degree. All three Offenders were booked and later turned over to Cheektowaga PD.


Officers and a Detective responded to a Transit Rd retail store for a Larceny in progress. Store loss prevention advised that a female Subject was stopped in the vestibule after passing all points of sale with clothing items concealed on her person. The female handed over the merchandise and left the area after refusing to wait for police to arrive. A male Subject that was with the female was still inside the store and was being monitored by loss prevention. The male exited the store without paying for a pair of sneakers and was taken into custody by Patrol. The female was located in a vehicle still parked in the lot. She was taken into custody and returned to the station along with the male to be booked on petit larceny charges. Both Subjects were later released on appearance tickets.


Officers completed traffic details on Broadway, Harris Hill Rd, Hemlock La (2), Iroquois Av, Pavement Rd, Pleasant View Drive (3), Ransom Rd, Spruceland Terrace, Transit Rd (2) and Walden Ave (2).


An Officer conducting a traffic detail at the intersection of Walden Ave and Sheldon Ave, observed a vehicle pass through a solid red signal. The Officer conducted a traffic stop and while speaking with the driver, the driver stated his license was suspended. A DMV check of the driver’s license status showed three suspensions. The driver was issued UTTs for aggravated unlicensed operation and passing a red light. He was later released at the scene and the vehicle was turned over to a licensed driver.


Detectives received a tip of possible prostitution activity at a Freeman Rd motel. After an investigation a 39 year old female from Depew was arrested and charged Prostitution. A 39 year old male was also arrested in connection with the prostitution arrest. The male was charged with promoting prostitution in the 4th degree. Both offenders were issued appearance tickets and turned over to Amherst Police in connection with a robbery case.
