JAMES ADAMSKI HOMICIDE.
Using the combined resources of the Lancaster Police Department and the New York State Police Violent Crime Investigation Team, the unsolved 1982 murder of James B. Adamski is being examined anew using contemporary investigative techniques and advancements in forensic technology.
James Adamski was just 18 years old when he left a crowded Halloween costume party at the 5&23 Bar on Transit Road in Depew in the early hours of the morning on October 31, 1982. He left on foot and was last seen alive walking south on Transit Road between Broadway and Como Park Boulevard. His body was found in a shallow grave in a wooded area off of Ransom Road in Lancaster by two hunters on December 26, 1982.
This posting, according to Chief Gerald J. Gill, is designed to prompt a recollection, by any persons, of the facts and circumstances surrounding the young man's brutal death. "We remain in need of the assistance of the public to provide us with leads", said Chief Gill. "The family of this 18 year old victim deserves to know the truth. The person(s) responsible should be held accountable."
