Lancaster - Armed Robbery Arrest
At approximately 6:45 p.m. Saturday Night, Lancaster Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Tops Express, 6363 Transit Road in Lancaster. A male subject, who was wearing pantyhose over his head, had displayed a knife and demanded cash from the clerk. Officers were able to develop information and located the vehicle used by the subject at an address on Harmony Lane in Cheektowaga a short time later. The subject, 46 year old Frank Schupp of Cheektowaga, was ordered out of the residence and taken into custody without incident. During questioning, the subject also admitted that he had committed another recent robbery at a Depew liquor store. The subject was charged with robbery in the first degree (a class B felony), criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, menacing in the second degree and criminal possession of stolen property. The subject is awaiting arraignment in Town of Lancaster Court. Arresting officers in this case were Lancaster Police Officers Greco, Keppner and Speyer, along with Lieutenants Gummo and Rozler.
