(UPDATED) Main-Transit firefighters respond to Structure Fire at Restaurant in Amherst.

Main-Transit Fire Department of Amherst, NY responded to a report of a fire alarm at 7800 Transit Rd at 7:46 AM on June 19, 2021. While en route firefighters were updated that there was a fire in the restaurant at that address. Firefighters arrived on location and found fire conditions showing from the roof of the building. Firefighters immediately began extinguishing the fire and performed overhaul and salvage operations after the fire had been extinguished.


Twenty Main-Transit Firefighters and firefighters from Williamsville Fire Department, Harris Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Clarence Center Volunteer Fire Company and East Amherst Fire Department responded with four engines, three aerial ladders, and two heavy rescues. Fire Chief Brad Sprague commanded the response. The incident is still under investigation through the Amherst Fire Inspectors office and the Amherst Police Department. One employee of the business was treated and released on scene for minor injuries. There were no reports of firefighter injuries.


Main-Transit Fire Department was assisted by the Amherst Police, Erie County Sheriffs Department, Town of Amherst Fire and Building inspectors, the Amherst Central

Fire Alarm Office, Twin City Ambulance and Town of Amherst Emergency Services office.
