The Erie County Sheriff’s Office responded to 97 calls the week of this report.
Town of Alden:
11/03/24 Fire Cary Road Deputies responded to the area for a report of a large fire. Deputies reported that the fire was a controlled burn, away from any structure and determined there was no need for the fire department. All parties were advised.
11/06/24 Wire Down Genesee Street Deputies responded to a report of wires down in the road. Deputies located and secured the area until the utility company arrived.
11/07/24 Repossessed Auto Crittenden Road Deputies confirmed that proper paperwork was on hand for a vehicle being repossessed. The vehicle was secured by a tow truck.
11/08/24 Neighborhood Patrol Town of Alden Deputies continue increased patrols to combat vehicle larcenies. The Sheriff’s Office wants to remind everyone to keep their vehicles locked and not to leave valuables in unattended vehicles.
Village of Alden:
11/04/24 Criminal Mischief Broadway Deputies responded to a report of damage done to property overnight. Deputies spoke to the suspect, who confessed to patrols and agreed to make necessary repairs. All parties advised.
11/08/24 Welfare Check Broadway Deputies responded to a 911 hang up call with no answer on call back. Deputies spoke to all parties, who stated it was accidental. Deputies reported that everything appeared to be in order and there was no need for police assistance.
Town of Marilla:
11/02/24 Fraud Three Rod Road Deputies assisted a complainant that discovered unauthorized charges on his credit card. Deputies advised him to contact his financial institution and gathered the necessary documentation to complete a police report.
11/04/24 Accident – Property Damage Two Rod Road Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle that drove off the road and into the trees. Deputies reported no injuries and determined that the vehicle needed to be towed from the scene. Deputies completed an accident report.
11/08/24 Disturbance Jamison Road Deputies responded to a reported roadside disturbance. Deputies noted it was a verbal argument only and advised both parties.
