Grand Island Traffic Stop Discovers Controlled Substance, Wanted Suspect.
Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies Day and Rogers stopped a vehicle on Whitehaven Road at approximately 11:45 P.M. for a vehicle and traffic violation. During their investigation, the Deputies discovered, Aramis Fournier – 34 of Niagara Falls, was operating a vehicle while his driver’s license is suspended and has an active warrant.
Following his arrest, the Deputies searched the vehicle and located a controlled substance, ALZA. Fournier is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation and an equipment violation.
While in custody, the Deputies observe the defendant attempted to dispose and partially ingest a white paste. An initial test indicated the substance was an opiate derivative.
Fournier was charged additionally with tampering with evidence and a second criminal possession of a controlled substance misdemeanor.
The defendant is housed at the Erie County Holding Center on $500.00 bail.
