Getzville House Fire Causes $25,000 In Damages.

At 01:10PM today (12/23/19) Amherst Fire Control Received a 9-1-1 call that a garbage can next to the house at 61 Foxpoint West in Getzville was on fire and the fire was possibly extending into the structure. Upon arrival of First Assistant Fire Chief Dan Cownie reported the fire had indeed extended into the structure. The fire was under control within 13 minutes of the 9-1-1 call. The Amherst Fire Inspector reported the cause of the fire was improperly discarded Coals. The Fire Scene was left with the Fire Inspectors Office and was Secured by Emergency Enclosure Personnel.

Amherst Police & Twin City Ambulance Assisted the scene. A total of $25,000. in damages were reported.
