Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Matthew Solomon and James Thaler Monday following an investigation into multiple larcenies at the Sardinia farmers’ market.
The defendants were caught on surveillance cameras taking cash and merchandise over a several day period. On Friday, October 20, the Sheriff’s Office released screen captures from the surveillance recordings and sought the public’s help in identifying the subjects.
Solomon, 33 of Tonawanda, is charged with two counts of petit larceny and two counts of criminal trespass, both are misdemeanors, and is held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment. After receiving numerous tips from the public, Detectives were able to identify and arrest the subjects.
Thaler, 41 of Buffalo, is charged with multiple misdemeanors which include two counts of petit larceny, two counts of criminal trespass, and one count of criminal mischief. Thaler posted $250.00 bail and was released from the holding center.
