Erratic Driver Complaints Leads To DWI And Drug Arrest.

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputy Casey stopped a vehicle on Route 16 in the Town of Holland around 6:25 P.M. on June 6, after receiving traffic complaints from other motorists.

After observing signs of impairment, Deputy Casey requested Deputy Zamorek for a drug recognition evaluation. At the conclusion of the drug evaluation, Wendy Owen, 51 of Holland, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of a DWI – drugs and operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs.

During the traffic stop, Deputies also discovered loose Carisoprodol and Clonazepam pills in the defendant’s possession and added counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and possessing a controlled substance not in the original container.

Deputies also charged Owen with the following vehicle and traffic law violations, failure to keep right, operating a motor vehicle without an inspection, operating a motor vehicle without stop lights, and moving from a lane unsafely.

She was issued appearance tickets and released to a third party.
