The Erie County Sheriff’s Office responded to 95 calls the week of this report. Below is a sampling of the noteworthy incidents in Elma.

12/09

Welfare Check

Rice Rd

Complainant asked patrol to check on a friend that did not show up for a lunch appointment and is not answering her phone. Deputies went to the residence and found nobody home. No signs of concern at the residence and subject would not answer calls from patrol.

Traffic Infraction

Transit Rd @ E Center Rd

Deputies stopped a vehicle for V&T violation. Driver was cited for driving with a suspended registration due to insurance lapse. Arrest report completed and driver released on tickets.

Animal Complaint

Clinton St @ Bowen Rd

Passerby called in an injured animal in the intersection. Deputies were unable to locate any animals nearby.

Alarm

W Blood Rd

Deputies responded to an alarm activation. Alarm company called back to cancel at the request of the homeowner.

Nuisance Calls

Caroline La

Deputies responded to a report of numerous calls from a juvenile to a neighbor. The repeated calls are non-threatening in nature and are only to cause annoyance. Patrol was able to speak to the juveniles making the calls and advised them repercussions if the calls continued. Complainant did not wish to pursue charges at this time unless the calls continued.

Deputies responded to an alarm activation. Deputies checked the property with the keyholder. AIO. Advised to check with the alarm company.

Bowen Rd

Complainant was waiting to speak to patrol regarding his son’s possible involvement in an incident that previously occurred. He was advised of the situation.

Deputies responded to a medical alarm activation. Fire cleared the call.

Deputies responded to an alarm activation. Person on location could not provide proper code. Deputies spoke to homeowner on location that forgot his codeword. AIO

Seneca St @ Transit Rd

Deputies responded to a three-vehicle accident. Two vehicles were towed from the scene. No injuries reported to patrol. Accident report was completed.

Creek Rd

Deputies responded to an alarm activation. Key holder responded and assisted with checking the property

Alarm – Fire

Bowen Rd

Deputies responded to a general fire alarm activation. Fire on scene reporting nothing showing. Key holder arrived and building was cleared.

Bowen Rd

Complainant seeking advice on their current situation. Patrol advised their options of speaking with a Lawyer, Court, mediator, etc regarding their upcoming separation.

Complainant asked for assistance in turning off her water in the residence due to flooding in the basement. She was advised to call plumber and was transferred to fire for assistance.

Complainant stated they are being sexually harassed at work. The report was already made to Human Resources at work and she was advised to report it to patrol. Police report completed.

Deputies responded to a fire alarm activation. Fire department already on location. AIO

Suspicious Incident

Meadow Dr

Complainant reported a possible scam by Spectrum TV. She received a phone demanding payment that could be sent to PO Box in Queens Village NY. Complainant hung and called spectrum directly. They report her bill is paid and there are no problems with her account. The other number has called a couple more times and she has demanded them to stop calling and that she was reporting the scam to the police.

Girdle Rd

Complainant reports a threat written on the wall in a bathroom at the school. 3 female students listed in the threat. Threat was cleaned off the wall before patrol could see it. The only subject the three females could think of to write it, was not at school during the possible time frame of the message being written. Police report completed and referred to detective bureau.

Accident

W Blood Rd @ Maple Rd

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident. One driver was transported to ECMC for non-life-threatening injury. One vehicle towed from the scene. Accident report completed.

Custody Dispute

Clinton St

Complainant reports that the female is refusing to returns the kids during his scheduled time. Both parties interviewed. Female reports kids are stressed and requesting the kids to stay another night. Father agreed to that. Both parties advised.

Complainant thinks her neighbor is possibly hunting and cutting trees down on her property. She asked patrol not to do anything until she speaks with her son first. She just wanted to know what patrol could do if it is happening.

Bowen Rd

Complainant requested welfare check on a tenant that has not been seen in a couple of days. Landlord opened the apartment and nobody was home. Vehicle was checked and empty. Subject possibly entered Rehab. Nothing else to go on.

Fire department on location and reporting false alarm.

Deputies responded to a garage motion alarm. Building secure upon location.

Accident – Injury

Bullis Rd

Deputies responded to a three-car collision. Road was temporarily shut down. All three vehicles towed from the scene. NITTEC notified for damage to guardrail. Accident report completed. No injuries reported

Check

Hidden Valley Dr

Complainant reported verbal argument with her sister earlier in the day and is now worried the other sister may harm herself. There was no reason for the concern as the sister was safe and sound.

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident. No injuries reported and one vehicle was towed from the scene. Accident report completed

DWI / Alcohol

Bullis Rd

Deputies responded to report of a female attempting to get into a vehicle to kill herself. Vehicle was located and refused to stop for patrol. Vehicle attempted to hit SP vehicle. Vehicle pulled into a driveway and patrol took female into custody. Subject was arrested, processed and released on appearance tickets to sober third party. She refused chemical test. Police report and arrest report completed.
