Erie County Sheriff's Office Patrol Logs For The Town of Clarence From 8/31 Through 9/6.

08/31/19: Deputies responded to a disturbance on Meadowbrook Road. A male reported that his brother and a female would not leave and were causing a disturbance. The two offenders left prior to patrol’s arrival.

Deputies checked on a fireworks complaint on Clarence Center Road. It was related to the Labor Day Fair.

Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance on Tobermory Avenue. All was quiet when patrol arrived and nobody would come to the door.

09/01/19: A resident of Crosswinds Court called about someone ringing her doorbell. It was a neighbor who was looking for her son.

A resident of Ashford Court reported being scammed out of money when he was trying to purchase tickets to a football game in Ohio.

09/02/19: Deputies arrested fifty two year old Richard Hooton for felony level aggravated driving while intoxicated and felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following a traffic stop in Clarence. Hooton failed roadside sobriety tests and submitted to a breath test at the Clarence station which showed that his blood alcohol level to be .35 of one percent. Hooton was issued traffic tickets and was transported to ECMC because an alcohol content that high is considered hazardous to a person’s health.

09/03/19: For the second time in twenty four hours deputies arrested fifty two year old Richard Hooton for aggravated felony driving while intoxicated and felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Deputies stopped Hooton’s vehicle on Wehrle Drive for traffic infractions. Hooton submitted to a breath test after failing sobriety tests and the results were .26 of one percent. Hooton was remanded to the holding center pending arraignment. Hooton was also arrested for driving while intoxicated by deputies in June of this year.

Deputies spotted a vehicle driving slowly on Transit Road. The driver was also observed not wearing a seat belt. Deputies report that fifty eight year old Patrick Gambino failed roadside sobriety tests and was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving under the influence of drugs. Gambino submitted to a blood test.

09/04/19: Deputies stopped a vehicle on Sheridan Drive for a traffic infraction. Thirty eight year old Michael Lock was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. Locks license is currently revoked for a DWI in March of 2019. Lock was transported to ECMC for medical care because he kept nodding out during his evaluation by a drug recognition expert. He refused a blood test to determine what drugs he was impaired by.

09/05/19: Deputies received a report of a vehicle that had struck a sign on Main Street. They located the vehicle on Sheridan Drive and initiated a traffic stop. Twenty six year old Cassandra Mentecky was charged with leaving the scene of an accident drinking alcohol in a vehicle aggravated driving while intoxicated and moving from a lane unsafely. Mentcky submitted to a breath test which showed her blood alcohol content to be .24 of one percent or three times the legal limit.

09/06/19: Thirty nine year old Chad Foster was charged with criminal contempt for violating a no contact order of protection. He was arrested on a warrant while he was confined to the county jail on unrelated charges. The incident occurred on Goodrich Road.

A resident of Cobblestone Drive reported that an elderly female was wading into a pond. Patrol checked the area with negative results.
