Erie Co. Sheriff’s Office Patrol Logs for the Town of Clarence. Feb 2nd Through 8th.
02/02/19: Twenty seven year old Kristy Evans was arrested on a warrant for grand larceny. Evans and a co-defendant allegedly stole over one thousand dollars in clothing from J.C. Penny’s at the Eastern Hills Mall on December tenth of 2018. Evans was transported to the holding center pending arraignment.
Twenty year old Mataya Woods and thirty five year old Shawndrina Hicks were arrested for shoplifting. The vehicle they were in was stopped for reckless operation by the Amherst Police who advised the Sheriff’s Office that they had the suspects in custody. The females had stolen multiple household items from Walmart in Clarence. Both were charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and possession of burglar’s tools. After being processed Woods was turned over to the State Police on an outstanding warrant.
02/03/19: A burglar alarm was reported on Clarherst Drive. Patrol checked the residence. It appeared to be secure.
A female called and reported that her two adult sons were fighting at an address on Via Marina Street. Two males had a heated verbal argument. One of the males had left prior to the arrival of patrol.
02/04/19: A seventeen year old male was charged with unlawful surveillance concluding an investigation into a camera that had been placed illegally in the rest room of a Transit Road business.
Deputies were dispatched to an address on Main Street for a 911 open line with yelling heard in the background. One of the involved subjects had left before patrol arrived. The other person did not wish to speak with police.
02/05/19: A female called from Limehouse Drive reported that she felt that she was being harassed by her brother via phone calls from Nevada. It was a family argument over the care of an elderly mother. No crime was being committed.
An employee called in a possible fire at a store on Transit Road. It was a ballast smoking.
02/06/19: A resident of Berghorn Road stated that she heard noises and felt someone had tried to get in the back door of the house. There was no evidence of any attempt to enter the residence.
Deputies responded to multiple calls of vehicles that had slid off of the road because of icy roads.
02/07/19: A business on County Road reported that they had four checks stolen from the outgoing mail. The checks were then altered and cashed. There is an ongoing investigation into this incident and several other similar incidents in the area.
A caller from East Avenue reported that someone was shining a light into her house. Patrol checked the area with negative results.
02/08/19: A license plate was found on Main Street. The plate was returned to th3e address on the registration.
Deputies assisted the SPCA on a search warrant to seize dogs from an address on Stahley Road.
A large tree fell onto Glenwood Drive, blocking the roadway. The highway department cut up the tree and removed it.
