Elma Resident Fires Shotgun in Restricted Area.

Deputies Hoffman and Malican responded to a Cemetery Road address yesterday around 8:30 P.M. for reports of shots fired. The Deputies spoke with neighbors of the complainant and Scott Caldarella stated the didn't hear anything. Then he stated he exploded a firework, then eventually admitted to discharging a shotgun because he was annoyed at the neighbor's barking dogs.

51-year-old Caldarella is charged with a violation of Environmental Conservation Law section 11-0931-03 (No person shall discharge a firearm in a "restricted area" established pursuant to section 11-0321, contrary to the terms of the restriction prohibiting or restricting such discharge). He was issued an appearance ticket for Elma Town Court.
