Ellicottville School lockdown threat

On March 1, 2019 at 8:00 AM, Troopers responded to Ellicottville Central School for a possible threat of violence.  Further investigation revealed that a threatening note was located within the school.  Appropriate measures were taken for the safety of the students and staff.  The school went into lockdown and more NYSP resources arrived to evaluate and investigate the possible threat.  At this time, NO immediate credible threat exists. The school has been taken from a Lockdown to a modified shelter in place within the last hour.  Parents are reminded not to come to the school at this time until the lockdown/shelter in place is fully lifted.  Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in this investigation. This is still an ongoing criminal investigation.
