DRUG INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN COCAINE DEALER’S ARREST.

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports that 49-year-old Jermaine Turner of Buffalo was arrested on April 7 following a brief investigation and the execution of three warrants.

Thursday afternoon, the Erie County Sheriff’s Narcotics and Intelligence Unit, assisted by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, executed a warrant on Turner on the Kensington Expressway in Cheektowaga. Turner was found to possess over a half-ounce of cocaine packaged for sale.

The team then executed search warrants at 115 Durham Street in Buffalo and the upper residence of 58 Deborah Lane in Cheektowaga.

The search at Durham Street recovered over 4-ounces of cocaine, a large amount of U.S. currency, and two loaded handguns. The Deborah Lane search recovered over 4-ounces of cocaine, another large stash of U.S. currency, and a loaded .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle.

Turner is charged with:

· Two counts of a class-A felony of criminal possession of a controlled substance;

· Three counts of a class-B felony of criminal possession of a narcotic with intent to sell;

· Three counts of a class-C felony of criminal possession of a loaded firearm;

· A count of a class-B felony of criminal possession of a narcotic; and

· Four counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia – a class-A misdemeanor.

The defendant is held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.

Turner has five previous felony convictions, three of which stem from violent felonies.
