Driver Arrested for DWI After Colliding with Occupied Alden School Bus.

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports 25-year-old Jennifer Sears of Lancaster was arrested for DWI following a crash on Sandridge Road in the Town of Alden on November 27.

Deputies responded to the scene around 3 P.M. yesterday for reports of a vehicle colliding with an Alden Central School District bus.  Sears failed multiple standard field sobriety tests administered by Deputies Davis and Klometz, and she registered a BAC level more than three times the legal limit.

Sears is charged with DWI and aggravated DWI – BAC.18 or more.  She was later released to a sober third party with appearance tickets.

There were five students on the bus at the time of the crash.  A school district nurse did respond to the scene, and no injuries were reported.  Alden School Resource Officer Deputy Piel also responded and assisted at the scene.
