Disturbances At Walden Galleria Mall Sends CPD, W Seneca PD, Depew, Lanc. PD and the NFTA Police.

On October 24, 2020 at 6:25pm, the Cheektowaga Police Department responded to a call for assistance from the Walden Galleria Mall Security Department.  Security reported to police that there were approximately 30 underage kids in the food court.  Police assisted is dispersing the youth in the food court.  At 7:01pm, a report of a fight and approximately 100 kids running through the mall came in.  Three juvenile females were arrested for Inciting to Riot, a Class A Misdemeanor.  One was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest.  Those three juveniles were transported to HQ, processed and turned over to parents.  In an effort to increase police presence and assist in dispersing the kids, additional police officers from West Seneca, Depew, Lancaster and the NFTA Police Departments responded.  

Two further calls for fights were reported, one at 8:00pm and one at 8:30pm.  In both cases, there were no victims and the kids dispersed as police arrived.  

The Cheektowaga Police Department remains committed to maintaining order and keeping our residents and visitors to the Town safe.  We are reviewing the events from this weekend to ensure that everything possible is being done.
