Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announces the arrest of 28-year-old Jordan Levan of Clarence on a felony charge of attempting to disseminate indecent material to a minor.
In December 2019, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan contacted this agency about a 16-year-old female victim who stated an adult male was sending and asking for explicit photos.
Sheriff’s Detectives began working with Detective Hockwater of Cheektowaga Police Department, assigned to the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force. The task force member assumed the Michigan girl’s Instagram identity, and Levan continued to send and asked for explicit photos.
On June 9, 2020, Sheriff’s Detectives and FBI task force members executed a federal search warrant and seized Levan’s mobile phone.
On June 15, 2021, Jordan Levan turned himself in to Sheriff’s Detectives at the Clarence Substation. Levan was arrested and charged with a felony count of attempting to disseminate indecent material to a minor and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child. Levan was processed and released with appearance tickets.
The FBI Child Exploitation Task Force and the Erie County District Attorney assisted in the investigations and subsequent arrest of the defendant.
