Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announced Deputy Earl Farina was selected by the New York State Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for its annual law enforcement Recognition of Excellence Award.
Deputy Farina recognition follows a year of law enforcement on Erie County roads and highways by Sheriff’s Deputies that resulted in 239 driving while impaired arrests; of those 239 arrests, Deputy Farina made thirty-nine arrests in 2018.
Sheriff Timothy Howard said, “I want to congratulate Deputy Farina for this tremendous recognition and award. My office is lucky to have Deputies like Deputy Farina who are so dedicated to providing public safety to the residents of Erie County. As protectors of peace and the community, I am happy to know Deputy Farina is among the hundreds of Deputies committed to keeping us and our roads safe.”
Erie County’s STOP-DWI hosted the annual awards reception at Kloc’s Grove on May 10.
