Depew Police Investigating Serious Accident that had Walden Ave Closed for Several Hours.

On Jan 8th, 2017 at 10:23 pm, Depew Police were called to the scene of a one car injury accident on Walden Ave. near Autumn Lea. (Between Transit Rd. and Dick Rd.)

Accident investigators at the scene report that a Black 2007 Ford Fusion driven by a 24 year old, W/M from Lancaster NY, was E/B on Walden Ave. when it crossed over the W/B lanes, jumped the curb and struck a utility pole. The vehicle came back onto the roadway and came to rest on the south side of Walden Ave. There were no witnesses to the accident, but passersby noticed the damaged vehicle with the driver unconscious, and called police. Police, Fire, and EMS arriving on the scene discovered the unresponsive driver not breathing and with no pulse. Lancaster Volunteer Ambulance transported the driver to St. Joseph’s hospital, where he was revived and later transferred to South Buffalo Mercy Hospital.

Accident is still under investigation, and it is not known what other factors may have contributed to the accident.

Driver’s name is not being released at this time, and his present condition is unknown.
