West Seneca, NY – On June 30, 2019, at approximately 5:07 p.m., State Police responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident on I-90 in the town of West Seneca. A preliminary investigation determined that a 2003 Pontiac Vibe, operated by Julie A. Armitage, 52, of East Aurora, NY, was disabled on the shoulder of I-90 westbound. A 2010 Ford F150, operated by Anthony M. Meyers, 33, of Depew, NY, drove onto the shoulder and struck the Pontiac causing substantial damage to both vehicles. Meyers was found to be intoxicated and had a suspended license. He was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Buffalo, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be a .25%. Additionally, Myers has two prior DWI convictions within the last 10 years and was subsequently charged with Aggravated Vehicular Assault (while having a .18% or higher BAC); a Class C Felony, Aggravated Vehicular Assault (while License Suspended/Revoked); a Class C Felony, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; a Class D Felony, Driving While Intoxicated (2 Previous Convictions); a Class D Felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree; a Class E Felony, and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations. Meyers was arraigned before the Town of West Seneca Court and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. A return court date of July 2, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. has been set. Armitage was transported from the accident scene to Erie County Medical Center for serious injuries. Her condition in unknown at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
