Clarence woman arrested for violating Leandra's Law.

On December 18, 2018 Troopers monitored a report from the Erie County Sheriff's Office that a Clarence woman may be driving under the influence with a child in the vehicle. A Clarence Trooper observed the vehicle in question failing to stay in its lane on Roll Rd, Clarence. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, Kayla Rinaldi, 26 of Clarence, failed field sobriety tests. Rinaldi was arrested and processed at State Police Clarence where an Erie County Sheriff drug recognition expert conducted an evaluation. Rinaldi was charged with aggravated DWI with a child, commonly known as Leandra's Law, a Felony and driving with ability impaired by drugs a misdemeanor. Additionally, she was issued traffic tickets and released with a return court date in Clarence. The child was turned over to Rinaldi's mother and was not harmed.
