[From Amherst Fire Control:]

Amherst Fire Control received a call reporting a small single engine plane had went down in the trees south of the Clarence Aerodrome. Swormville and East Amherst Fire Departments were dispatched for an initial response.  A second caller was near the downed plane and reported the pilot was trapped in the cockpit and had injuries but was alert and talking. Swormville Chief Scott Will requested Clarence Center and North Amherst to respond with their off-road vehicles and other equipment to assist. Crews worked to free the pilot and he was initially evaluated by a medicsfrom Twin City Ambulance and then transported to ECMC via Mercy Flight.
