Clarence Fire Causes $600,000. In Damage in Yesterday’s Fire.
The Amherst Central Fire Alarm Office received multiple phone calls reporting a fire at 8261 Main Street. Harris Hill Fire Company Chief Steve Pollard arrived on location within five minutes of dispatch and reported a fire in a three unit apartment complex with fire extending into the attic and walls. Chief Pollard struck a second alarm bringing more resources to the scene. The fire was declared under control at 6:52 PM. One fire police member was treated for a leg injury and transported to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital and one occupant was also transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. Chief Pollard reported the fire appeared to be electrical in nature but was still under investigation.
