Clarence - Early Morning Structure Fire. 8550 Nottingham Terrace.


From Amherst Fire:

AT 2:09 AM AMHERST FIRE CONTROL RECEIVED A CALL FROM A PASSERBY WHO REPORTED THE HOME AT 8550 NOTTINGHAM TERRACE HAD FIRE SHOWING. HARRIS HILL CHIEF SCHREIBER WAS FIRST ON SCENE. CHIEF SCHREIBER REPORTED A WORKING FIRE, WITH FIRE ON THE SECOND FLOOR AND FLAMES THROUGH THE ROOF. THE HOME WAS VACANT AND WAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. FIREFIGHTERS FROM MAIN TRANSIT, EAST AMHERST AND BOWMANSVILLE RESPONDED AS MUTUAL AID AND ASSISTED WITH FIRE EXTINGUISHMENT AND OVERHAUL. THE FIRE WAS PLACED UNDER CONTROL IN 35 MINUTES. THE SCENE WAS LEFT WITH THE ERIE COUNTY SHERIFFS FIRE INVESTIGATORS AND THE TOWN OF CLARENCE FIRE INSPECTOR.
